Get Your Pop Culture Fix: Movie Bliss & Pride, Prejudice and Popcorn launch Harlequin E's new imprint

After two days laid up with stomach flu and no heating thanks to a faulty boiler (Wow! Crappy New Year, hello!) I'm a little late blogging about the launch of Harlequin E's new POP imprint with my book Movie Bliss: A Hopeless Romantic Seeks Movies to Love and Carrie Sessarego's brilliant Pride, Prejudice and Popcorn.

We've both out now on ebook, but basically this is a brand new line for Harlequin which takes a female-friendly look at popular culture... You know, all those things you discuss with your girlfriends but were never expecting to see in a book! So, don't expect high-brow up-themselves tomes telling you what to watch, these books are much more touchy-feelly and fun than that.

My book is a collection of riffs on some of my favourite films, or rather how I achieved Movie Bliss without the use of controlled substances (well, apart from chocolate and wine, obviously). The awesome Alicia Williams on Exploits of a Chick Lit Aficionado blog had this to say about it:

"The book itself reads like every conversation I've ever had with my friends about films, from plot points to eye candy, and isn't dry at all.  Its charm lies in its ability to bring to life the films it describes, whilst being simultaneously entertaining and incredibly witty."

While Carrie's book is a really engaging exploration of the many film and TV adaptations of those romance classics Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Have to admit, while reading her book she gave me a rather disturbing insight into my own obsession with bad boys... Which I think may have totally stemmed from reading Wuthering Heights at 14 and thinking Heathcliff was a romantic hero. Hm, not so sure about that anymore! Does that explain why there's never been a good adaptation of Emily Bronte's turbulent tale of love, death and obssession? Read Carrie's book and find out.

Both books are super cheap on Amazon, so seriously, what are you waiting for? Download your pop culture fix now.

TWO New eBooks out in January! Get your sneak peeks here.

Wow!! I've been working hard recently. Because I have two new ebook releases out in January 2014.

First up is my very first Cosmo Red-Hot Read (think KISS but with added sexy bits!). 10 Ways to Handle the Best Man is the story of uber-efficient maid of honour Sabrina Millard and Connor McCoy, the bad man she's going to have a very hot time trying to turn into a best man.... The good news is, Sabrina has a ten-point plan... The bad news is, Connor isn't the type of guy who follows instructions - at all.

Check out a sneak peek here from the first chapter.

And next up, I have my first POP book for Harlequin E - Movie Bliss: A Hopeless Romantic Seeks Movies to Love. Like it says on the tin, this is an ebook of romance-landia friendly film picks from my cache of favourites. So if you want to know how to obtain movie bliss without the use of control substances, this ebook's for you!

Check out my take on Bridget Jones's Diary here.
