YAY! Have just heard from my editor that the Cosmo team loved my partial and I am now under contract to write my 2nd Cosmo Red Hot Read. After all the hot fun I had writing 10 Ways to Handle the Best Man, I should have a blast writing 10 Rules to Sex-Up a Blind Date...

Here's my Pinterest board for the book, to give you some heft hints about what's in store.... But basically it involves a sex-starved London journalist with a secret Twitter habit, a super-studly American alpha wolf in geek's clothing and one super-hot blind date night in a luxury London hotel, and the mayhem that follows the morning after.

Apparently it's penciled in for release in October, so I need to get writing - and do much research on Channing Tatum and Chris Hemsworth who are vying to become my hero inspiration! (Damn this is a tough job.)

The Great Gatsby... And other great things!

I'm over at the Pink Heart Society waffling on about how great I thought Baz Luhrmann's manic new version of The Great Gatsby was and getting in the mood to write my movie review book for Harlequin POP... Don't know when this one will be out (as I haven't written it yet) but I'm having a lot of fun compiling some of my favourite romance-centric movies for public consumption...

And if you haven't visited my Facebook page recently, I've just updated my banner (because I'm a bit of a procrastinator like that!)... And I have to admit it's a little bit naughty... But very, very nice.

In other news, my Cosmo RED HOT Read - 10 Ways to Handle the Best Man - has been scheduled for a January 2014 release... OMG!! So excited about this - not least because that's the first time I've ever managed to keep my own title. I'm not sure if that date is confirmed, but will let you know.

And my new book page for Maid of Dishonor will be up soon on my website... Honest! I just need time to do it in between messing with pictures of nekkid men for my FB banner.

And last but not least... Today is the release day for Bedded for His Pleasure, my new anthology with Kate hardy and Trish Wylie, featuring a reprint of my first EVAH published book: Bedded by a Bad Boy (I take no responsibility for that title... see above for proof.)

Awards, Book Giveaway and Robert Downey Jr... Oh My!

Just back from being a glamourpuss in Paris for a few days where I got to wear my posh frock to the Irish Embassy no less (with ma famille). I am including pictorial evidence  -  the photo was taken by my brother's 5-year-old son hence the soft focus (think I may get him to take all my photos come to think of it!)

Now, in other news I got a wonderful email on Tuesday night saying that The Good, the Bad and the Wild (yes that is my Rona nominated book) has now also been nominated for a Booksellers Best Award in the Best Short Contemporary category. Squeeeeee!

Cowboys, Aliens and a variety of Hotties!

Am over at the Pink Heart Society today doing my regular Must-Watch Friday movie spot on Cowboys & Aliens, the all action genre mash-up which has the added benefit of Vintage Tottie and Hottie Tottie in the shape of Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig...

Actually I could have watched anything with those two in it, but all the alien and western action did not go amiss with the men in my family!

Also, have just got a US release date for Cupcakes and Killer Heels:

It's March 2012 when it will be coming out as a Harlequin Presents Extra (will be interesting to see if they keep that title). For those not in the know this is the sequel to Surf, Sea and a Sexy Stranger... Featuring my lushous cupcake entrepeneur heroine Ruby Delisantro and her brooding barrister hero Callum Westmore. Sexy, sassy and with chocolate frosting on top!

Then check out my post on The Pink Heart Society about the new HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce. The King of Cool.. And Drool

Ever wondered why Steve McQueen is called the King of Cool? You may want to check out my Must-Watch Friday post today on Pink Heart Society, where I am considering this important question in quite considerable depth as regards The Thomas Crown Affair circa 1968. NB: let's face it what other macho man could wear a day-glo orange shirt and blue hotpants and still look straight? (check out pictorial proof above)

In other news am still trying to work out the kinks on my latest ms... Had a light bulb moment on a flight to Dublin this weekend when I was visiting Abby Green (and avoiding my problem child ms). My heroine and my hero may have a tad too much emotional baggage... Think it might have come about as a result of being on a Ryanair flight. Nuf said.

Would put up pics of my trip but was having far too much fun helping Abby put together her outfit for the RITAs to take photos!

Jake Gyllenhaal is HAWT!

Am over at the Pink Heart Society today talking about the fiendishly clever new Jake Gyllenhaal movie Source Code and it's very dishy star, so come join me.

Am currently writing Chapter Five of Nick's story and have just discovered that he doesn't like to talk. At all! Never encountered this strong-but-silent routine with a hero before and it's driving me mad... And turning my heroine into a chatterbox. The poor woman can't shut up.

Tired, Tangled and Bewildered!

So had a fabulous day talking up a storm with some very interesting women interested in writing for M&B... And as writing and my books are my two favourite subjects I waffled non-stop for three solid hours altogether and hopefully at some point did actually impart a few pieces of useful information. Even managed to get a write-up on the Grazia website (muchos gracias Minx Lorraine for the link) as one of the attendees was a reporter.. Her M&B send-up is actually very funny and has some serious potential (LOL!) particularly like the setting in Dalston market (tres glamourous that) although was a bit bewildered by her take on internal and external conflict (crikey, did I say that??). Should also say a special thanks to my fellow Riva author Fiona Harper who popped in half-way through and managed to answer some questions that I couldn't!

Wanted to add that I'm talking about the fabulous new Disney cartoon Tangled on the Pink Heart Society for Must Watch Friday, so pop over there if you want to discuss it. Loved that movie.

Also (drum roll please) wanted to say a huge congrats to my mate, Modern author Abby Green whose fabulous book Bride in a Gilded Cage (that's her sultry sexy Argentine tango book!) has been short-listed for the Love Story of the Year prize....! Go Abby!

Come talk about The Hunk of the Century! on The Pink Heart

Had a great time at the RNA Winter Party on Wednesday night, meeting new faces and old mates... Well, not old, actually very young and glamorous but you know what I mean right...

And I'm over at the Pink Heart Society today talking about a golden oldie with the Hunk of the Century in (as he was named by one lovely lady on YouTube). None other than Clark Gable.... If you don't know who he is, you're in for a treat... Cos there's clips too of It Happened One Night on my PHS post. So don't say I never give you nothing. This film is 75 years old this year, and remains as fresh and sexy as it was in 1935. In a word, unmissable.. And unforgettable. Okay, that's two words!

PHS.... Inception

Having handed over Cal and Ruby's story to my ed (yes!!), I'm off to central London today, to a very swanky hotel, to schmooze with my fellow M&B authors at the AMBA lunch. Can't wait...

Some Very Nice Male Torsos... 300 To Be Precise

My Must-Watch Friday topic this month at the Pink Heart Society is the delirious sight of lots of extremely buff naked male torso... Sorry, I meant to say the brutal, bloody Ancient Greek battle epic 300.

Yes, it's a bit of a departure for the Pink Hearts, but worth the effort if you can stomach all the bloodshed (and there is a lot of it). Check out what I had to say about it here and, yes, I'll admit there may be the odd reference to men, and chests, and six-packs and the like, but all in the best possible taste. I promise. Oh and Gerard Butler's in it too... without his shirt on, or much else frankly. All right I'll shut up now.

PHS... Disney's The Princess and the Frog

Just in case you were wondering why my blog's been a little quiet of late.. Well, a little quieter than usual I should say... I'm currently Thelma and Louising it round Georgia and Alabama on one of my bi-annual road trips with my best mate. I'll be back next week though and raring to get stuck in to my next WIP... Hopefully by then I will actually have had an idea for one!!

Anyway, to keep us occupied I'm dropping into The Pink Heart Society today to get all dewy-eyed over Disney's latest animated classic The Princess and the Frog - and how great it is to see the House of Mouse back to doing what they do best. So come join me.

Must-Watch Friday - Gone with the Wind

I am waxing lyrical about Gone with the Wind today over at the Pink Heart Society, so do pop over there and let me know what you think of David O Selznick's gargantuan romance. It's the film that introduced me to alpha males and feisty females and great, big, gushing romantic fantasies at an early age, so it has a place close to my heart...

Despite the fact that in the years since I first fell in love with it I have become aware of its shortcomings. A movie of its time definitely, but one we're never likely to see the likes of again. And Clark Gable! Can I just say, Yum! (even with the tache)

PHS Today... Tomorrow the World!!

Popping in to say I'm blogging at the PHS today on my favourite film of all time. On the Waterfront!! So if you've never heard of it, nip over there and see what you've been missing....

In other news, the ms is finally buzzing. I've submitted my first ever proper partial to my ed and although she had some niggles, nothing that wasn't doable. So now I have a road map for the first time ever and it feels almost liberating. No more running around in the dark trying to get my characters to do all the work... Watch this space to see if they fall into line now.

Come Back Col, All Is Forgiven

Ha, got a very nice email from my lovely ed this morning to say that she'll be recommending my sixth book for acquisition under the title Public Affair, Secretly Expecting! Fingers crossed it should be out this November in the UK.

Can't tell you what a relief it is to have this book done and dusted... And to know that in the final analysis all the pain was worth it. Although, having said that, I'd still like a lot less pain the next time thank you very much.

So anyway, enough about the pain and onto the pleasure. As I'm currently feeling so magnanimous - and have a great big silly grin on my face to prove it - I'm posting a pic of a gorgeously young and sexy Paul Newman in one of my favourite films, The Long Hot Summer, which I'm blogging on tomorrow at the PHS. And I'm even going to forgive Colin Farrell for mucking me about as my muse...

Nights in Rodanthe

Hey all,

Just thought I'd pop my head out of the writing cave and point over to the PHS where I will be pontificating today on the Must-Watch-ish experience that is the romantic weepie Nights in 

Rodanthe.

Also had to show you the extremely hot cover for my first ever Italian book (a translation of The Tycoon's Very Personal Assistant, I think). Notice, my heroine seems to have turned into a Spanish Flamenco dancer and my hero has become a Brazilian footballer. Cool. 

Or those could be Trish Wylie's characters (but I thought they were Irish??)

Oh, and doing another little happy dance here, cos Pleasure, Pregnancy and a Proposition has just hit the top spot on Waldies for a second week running... And it got a great review from Marilyn Shoemaker at Marilyn's Romance Reviews (cheers Marilyn, the chocolate's in the post!)
